[LYRICS] TOKIO - Low Rider

From the Ai! Wanna be with you... single, released in 2016
Lyrics & Composition by Tomoya Nagase
Arranged by TOKIO

KANJI

Won't be long そうだろう?
Rolling Rolling Rolling
Rolling Rolling Lone...
Lonely Lonely Lonely
Lonely Lonely Won't be long...

Baby Baby Baby Midnight...
Baby Baby Baby...

Won't be long そうだよ
Rolling Rolling Rolling
Rolling Rolling Lone...
Lonely Lonely Lonely
Lonely Lonely Won't be long...

Ready Ready Ready Sunrise...
Ready Ready Ready...

Baby Baby Baby Midnight...
Baby Baby Baby...

ENGLISH
It's when I'm lost in strange feelings that I want to go far
And I put my cap on backwards, grabbing the keys to my car

Won't be long, ain't that right?
Rolling Rolling Rolling
Rolling Rolling Lone...
Lonely Lonely Lonely
Lonely Lonely Won't be long...

I make my way down a wounded road, avoiding wherever you might be
I don't want to think of tomorrow, and I mean that seriously
Whatever future I have is illuminated by these headlights
Baby Baby Baby Midnight...
Baby Baby Baby...

The cold wind of the city makes me feel right as rain
And the music on the radio gets my heart dancing again

Won't be long, yeah, that's right
Rolling Rolling Rolling
Rolling Rolling Lone...
Lonely Lonely Lonely
Lonely Lonely Won't be long...

My wounded heart struggles because it's you it wants to see
But I'll forget about tomorrow and that's how things should be
I go bright and go out, repetitive like taillights
Ready Ready Ready Sunrise...
Ready Ready Ready...

I make my way down a wounded road, avoiding wherever you might be
I don't want to think of tomorrow, and I mean that seriously
Whatever future I have is illuminated by these headlights
Baby Baby Baby Midnight...
Baby Baby Baby...

The moment Tomo played Low Rider on NagaSta, I immediately fell in love. He only played the first verse and the first chorus, but it was just... ugh. It's a big thing to say, especially with 22 years of history and a couple hundred songs in total, but Low Rider is my favourite TOKIO song of all time--and I've never had a favourite TOKIO song of all time, ever.

Given that I love it so much, I tried to make the translations in poem-form for slightly catchier reading. That being said, my translations are a little more liberal this time, more localised, but it's pretty much the same thing as is said in the Japanese lyrics, anyway.

Tomoya mentioned this being "a song for sad and lonely people" on School of Lock! the other day, saying it's the sort of crap you listen to when you go on drives alone to clear your head, and I think that image was captured simply and elegantly. ♥ Also, I want Mabo to mumble "rolling rolling rolling" in my ear.
