ARIGANOPROBLEM yes i know that doesn't really make sense
It's compulsory at Secondary School, which I think would be the equivalent of your High School. There aren't that many French people in the UK that I know of, but France is one of the closest European countries to us, so maybe that's why? Also we have a history with the French being monarchy and nobility in Britain hundreds of years ago, so we use a lot of French words in English anyway i am a language nerd sorry
That's so cool that you picked up Hokkien Chinese by picking it up, wtf! And learning Japanese via the TOKIO method, hahaha! I can do a bit of German too, I studied it for two years at school but all I really remember is 'Schwarzwalder kirschtorte' and 'krankenwagen' so.... yeah. :|
Which book series was that? I've had a go at translating Dostoevsky from the original Russian and that was difficult but very fun! Also other Russian languages... well, there are a ton of languages around there which are similar but not quite the same (for example Ukrainian and Belarusian) as well as all the languages spoken by the countries which were absorbed into the USSR but are now independent again I'm really interested in Russia for some reason and i could talk about it for hours, fucking shoot me
no subject
