I'm sure you've all heard about Tomo's new romance drama coming up!

Awesomely enough it coincides with my summer break, so I'll be subbing that. :Dd

I don't have time to translate anything concrete right now, but it's a remake of the 2004 K-Drama Sorry, I Love You. Tomo's character was abandoned by his mum, then gets this fatal injury after helping who I presume is his love interest (who, incidentally, has a romance thing going on with Tomo's half-brother). That being said, he tries to look for her before he dies so they can connect again. It sounds cheesy as hell and I'd rather die before I watch a romance drama, but we all know how much I love Tomo, so hey.

According to Tomo, the reason he hasn't done romance dramas as of late is because of lack of interest. "Love just wasn't the kind of thing I could comprehend," or so he says. He also says that he'll be pursuing the role "in a way that only I could do a love story".

"Now that I'm in my late thirties, the way I think about love is a lot different than it was 20 years ago. With this role, I'll be able to pursue it more honestly. After all the acting I've done, I want this character to be one people'll think, oh, only Tomoya Nagase could've played that guy, and if I have to do a love story for it, then isn't that fine? It'll be a love story no-one's ever seen before."

I plan on timing Japanese subtitles for Gomen, Aishiteru (remake of KBS, Sorry I Love You). It will start airing in July on TBS, Sunday 21:00 (9pm). Feel free to use them if you want to.

I will time to furransu's (Jdrama City) 480p if he release them. If he doesn't, then I will keep an eye out for it and post 480p at Nyaa.
I will also resync to 720p-DoA if it becomes available.

SWEET. I was hoping to use furransu's raws again if he releases them, they're great. (And I suppose if anyone's up for re-timing my subs for DoA if they release 720p, I'm good with that too.)

Given that I'll actually have time to schedule this sort of stuff, I have a plan to release new subs every week. Maybe every Wednesday or so!

I don't plan on retiming your English subtitles, but you may use the Japanese subtitles I time if you find them useful. I release softsubs in ASS format.

We'll see about the schedule when subs are released, still early.
What I've seen, it looks like furransu post to Jdrama City 2-3 days after the drama aired. (But it's been slower lately, could be because he's busy and the spring season is about to start).

I have real life work Monday-Thursday, those days I don't get so much subbing done since I'm tired.

We still don't know exactly when the drama will start, and for how long it'll run.
On Japanese Wikipedia it says 2017-Jul to 2017-Sep.
It would be good for me if it starts at the end of July. I plan on having my vacation during August.

I've never been into love stories, lmfao. God. I only watch them if anyone from TOKIO is in it, and I've been spared for the most part since TOKIO doesn't really get into roles like that... the last casualty I remember is Dousousei from 2014 with playboy Mabo who made me 200x more gay than I already am. :|

I watched the original drama and the story is very good! I think Nagase suits the character and I'm looking forward to watch him in something like this. Hope everything goes well for him. And thank you for deciding to sub this ^^

YAY I'M GLAD HE SEEMS TO BE A GOOD FIT!!

I've never seen any K-Dramas (and I'm not a huge drama fan in general), so I'm going to be starting this drama totally blind to what happens. :D Tomo's acting is always so freakin' good, though, so I have super high hopes to seeing how that manifests.

Since becoming a fansubber I've just become stubborn about subbing all TOKIO's new drama releases, lmfao... it's like a protectiveness thing :|

I watched the original Korean drama and it's a sob fest lol but sooo good i don't know if will fare well right now like it did in those days, 'cause i think that the melodrama genre seems to be over? anyway at least the drama it's quite known so let's see how it goes, but i'm honestly looking forward.

IDK much about melodrama, but Tomo's into roles that show human nature and shit like that, so maybe they won't cry as much if it seems like over-acting, but the emotions should probably be intact? It's a TBS drama too, and TBS has arguably some of the best dramas, so I'm pretty hyped about everything... except the love story. s;dkfshg

the drama was depressing as heck (as much as it was good), i think it took me a month or so to just get over it. i loved the drama but it's the probably the only one i refuse to rewatch because i don't want to get sad all over again. but now i have to because NAGASE!!! x_x

i'm curious on how the japanese production will interpret the drama though. i think Nagase fits the main lead role fine but i'm worried about the age gap with the main actress? either way, i'm anticipating this.

the theme song for the korean version is actually a remake of Mika Nakashima's [Yuki no Hana], and its haunting sound perfect suits the mood of the drama. i wonder if they're going to use it somewhere.

Like you, I got so excited when my friend told me about his new drama! *u* I tried my best to resist myself from watching the k-drama version but my curiosity won't allow me to just sit and wait until summer (in japan :p) so I sneak-peeked a little on the first episode and daaaaang~ no wonder why they gave to Tomoya the role. :D

About his interview, geeez! No wonder why Tomoya's such a good actor! He doesn't want to take the role if he knows that he cannot portray it very well and not just for the sake of having a project.

He also says that he'll be pursuing the role "in a way that only I could do a love story".

Because of this, I am MOOOOOOOOOOORE excited now to watch the drama! This guy never failed to amaze me~ (*-u-*)

And OP, you should watch the original since the drama is sooooo good (so depressing yet so good at the same time) -- its basically the saddest drama I have ever seen and none other dramas can ever touched how sad it is. I watched it more than 10 years ago but I still remember lots of the scenes from the drama like I just watch it one year ago. T__T
