Super quick entry!

1. I know there're Arashi fans who've added me to their lists for the TOKIO x Arashi talks I subbed last New Year's. If you're still interested in those, let me know! I've been getting to my friends requests rather slowly, so I don't want to add anyone who might just be angry with me for taking so damn long and have given up on it. :B Also if you comment on this entry I'll add you immediately.

2. Future projects once I finish Fragile are listed here. Obviously, those without links are the ones I plan to do. Some of these videos need raws, which you'll see in the description, so I'd appreciate any help if anyone finds any. Also, I'm always looking for timers (and typesetters? Maybe?) to help me out! If you know anyone planning to sub them, let me know 'cause they'll probably finish before I do.

3. TYTD is coming out this March! I'm not sure when the DVD release is, but I'll be subbing it when the time comes. Again, if you know someone who might want to do it, tell me!

4. I want to open requests for TOKIO songs or NagaSta recordings you'd like to see translated, so I'll probably set up an entry for that soon.

5. I'm considering translating TOKIO Kakeru weekly again once Fragile is finished, but IDK. I'm looking at the Kamiki episode, though, 'cause who DOESN'T love TYTD?

6. TOKIO subbing group, anyone? Maybe?

That's all from me! Title is the TOKIO song I'm listening to right now for no other reason except that I love it. If you haven't heard it yet, click here and press play 'cause that shit is lovely.

ah making a TOKIO subbing team sounds nice!! *volunteers to help!!*
though my speciality is to encode rather than time & typeset, but if you really create a TOKIO subbing team I'll gladly join and help out with timing & typesetting (I can only time & typeset for short videos though..) and encode ^_^

[identity profile] kurokouchi.livejournal.com 2016-03-01 03:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I've always been considering it, but of course I'm kind of wary about the expectations that come when you create an actual group--like people are gonna start expecting more releases from you and stuff like that. Add in the fact that I'm still not confident with my translations most of the time and it's really... XD;

But working on subs mostly on my own is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaally taxing most days, so I wonder if this'll be easier to do.

What do you use for encoding, though? :o I think it'd be a great help since I use VirtualDub for the most part and the quality of the videos usually aren't so nice.
18_sz: (arashi)

[personal profile] 18_sz 2016-03-01 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah... people actually expects a lot from you T-T....
actually working on your own takes longer than working together (provided that there's no delay or anything), it's somewhat easier since you don't have to work on everything yourself XD
hmm, I usually use VirtualDub too, but the quality seems fine. (though there are other options like MeGUI or Freemake but those kind of kill the quality if you use other program after encoding, based on what I heard from others.)
maybe it's because of the settings in VirtualDub that ruin the video's quality I guess...

[identity profile] kurokouchi.livejournal.com 2016-03-01 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm sure working with other people is easier! The only issue I have, again, is that a group is so official and I feel like my translations aren't good enough to be official and you know XD; I'm subbing Fragile right now and there're a lot of nuances I KNOW I'm not getting right, so it's like... :3TL I mean it'd be nice to find someone willing to edit my translations because honestly I'm the worst at switching from Japanese -> English... /cries

AND YEAH IT'S PROBABLY THE SETTINGS?? I really don't like making huge filesizes for people, though. :( Like when I do TokiKake episodes I try to keep it less than 300MB for the HQ stuff 'cause that's usually the ideal filesize for 30 minute shows for me. XD;

What settings do you use for compression? And what codecs for the video/audio? I'M SO CURIOUS HOW YOUR QUALITY ENDS UP GOOD.
18_sz: (arashi)

[personal profile] 18_sz 2016-03-01 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
then it's best if you find a spot translator (it helps somehow) XD~
uwa, 300mb... I would probably make it about 500-600mb... for a 30 minute show XD
I used xvid mpeg-4 codec for video compression (you need to change the configure to about 3~4 or at most 4.3~4.5; beyond that you might ruin your quality even though you're getting a smaller sized file!), and mpeg layer-3 codec for audio compression XD

[identity profile] kurokouchi.livejournal.com 2016-03-07 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
The issue is that there aren't a lot of TOKIO translators in the fandom any more, so it's hard to find a spot translator. :3TL BUT OH WELL. My mistakes aren't that big, anyway, and hopefully people won't really notice the difference 8D;;

Oh my God, though, I use the same codec for video compression and made the setting 10... because yeah, I like smaller sizes. ;;; And also my upload speed is SUPER slow, so if I made 600MB files every time it'd take me a day to upload them. T_T My Internet is honestly the worst.
18_sz: (arashi)

[personal profile] 18_sz 2016-03-07 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah *sigh*... it's okay, don't worry about mistakes, people are more glad to see it subbed rather than mistakes (if there is any XD)

wow.... O_O... if you need me to help you encode, just tell me HAHAHAHA I'll be more then delighted to XD

[identity profile] meenie-moo.livejournal.com 2016-03-01 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Jyaa,,i guess it's me who still interested in your works.. And forgive me for already added you before hearing from you first..
Thanks and yoroshikuu..

[identity profile] kurokouchi.livejournal.com 2016-03-01 03:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi! No, don't worry about adding me first--I really don't mind. I'm just very slow about replying to people. :(

I added you back, though, so I hope you enjoy the subs!

[identity profile] siriussandra.livejournal.com 2016-03-01 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)

you know where to find me... B)

[identity profile] kurokouchi.livejournal.com 2016-03-01 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] siriussandra.livejournal.com 2016-03-01 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahah wow tomo twins sign me up

I HAVE MY EYE ON A GORGEOUS DELL but it's not available in sweden so will probably have to ship it....... BUT IM WORKING ON IT AND WILL TRY TO AT LEAST HAVE IT ORDERED BEFORE FRIDAY

[identity profile] kurokouchi.livejournal.com 2016-03-01 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
i was like "haha tomo twins, mabos dream come true" and i wanted to punch myself in the dick

BUT AUUUUUGHHHHH??? did you manage to save your hard drive, at least? :( no rush if you're rushing for the subbing work, though, 'cause i'm pretty sure i won't be able to work on any full-length episode stuff while fragile's on-going XD

[identity profile] siriussandra.livejournal.com 2016-03-01 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
( ; ̄д ̄)
I asked them to send it back as it is so i guess i will get it back... someday soon?

But honestly I just REALLY NEED A COMPUTER BECAUSE CAN'T DO ANYTHING WITHOUT ONE im not kidding my fingers are itching to be able to open an gimp or dragon age so bad rn >_>

[identity profile] kurokouchi.livejournal.com 2016-03-07 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
This is a stupid question, but how can you restore your Dragon Age file if your computer's busted? :O Or is your saved game stored on-line somewhere?

[identity profile] siriussandra.livejournal.com 2016-03-08 08:40 am (UTC)(link)
DA inquisition is stored on a cloud(i hope :0), but for the rest of the games i donno :/ (oh god SO MANY SAVE FILES ARE PROBABLY GONE NOW i had so many)

Either way i caved and ordered a laptop anyway so in 1-2 days i will be alive online again

[identity profile] rikke-leonhart.livejournal.com 2016-03-01 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, just wanted to flail with you because I rewatched the 20th Anniversary concert and when Nagase sang Cadence I bawled.

[identity profile] kurokouchi.livejournal.com 2016-03-01 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)

their voices sound so beautiful with the quiet instrumental and the guitar work was just STUNNING??? like i love how tomo and taichi so flawlessly re-arranged it to be played without gussan and mabo oh my g o d

there's something about tomo's voice so gentle yet firm as he sings in a completely quiet budoukan that makes me cry?? and knowing the lyrics for cadence makes it even WORSE......

[identity profile] rikke-leonhart.livejournal.com 2016-03-01 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Like I said, all the effing tears xD I'm a downright mess for the entire concert and then the fail with the confetti thing and Gussan aiming with the towel and alksdkjsfjsfsh FEELS

And then Joushima Song and skdhcsjgfdjsgfjshcfshfckshd Sorry. I can't.

Would calling in sick for work because of feels be a legit excuse??

[identity profile] kurokouchi.livejournal.com 2016-03-07 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, I've actually skipped a class like... once, when the Heart album came up and I made the mistake of listening to the track Tomo wrote for it before leaving for class.

I ended up sobbing for an hour or two while going through all the other songs TOKIO's done about them being together and having the same path and being five people down the same road and all those metaphors and they just KILL ME EVERY TIME?????

Joshima Song always gets me, oh my God. I read that you're getting the Heart DVD with your next paycheck or so? IT'S SO WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!

[identity profile] rikke-leonhart.livejournal.com 2016-03-07 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
That's dedication, holy crap, I'm literally in awe right now xD He's just such a good songwriter, I don't even know what it is exactly that makes me weep, but oh my god.

I am actually being totally irresponsible and I already ordered it haha! Irresponsible because I'm also going to Dublin and a convention this month, oops. I'M SO EXCITED THOUGH. NO REGRETS. JUST LOVE.

I'll upload the VS Arashi and the Honma Dekka!? For Tensai, I could only find a really MQ version, but if you're interested, I can upload it too.
Give me a day 'cause clubbox is slow >

[identity profile] kurokouchi.livejournal.com 2016-03-01 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG AMAZING............... how do you find this stuff what the hell?? BUT DO TAKE YOUR TIME THERE'S NO RUSH AT ALL!! i'm still focusing on fragile, anyway :B

What's the dimensions for TSD? :o Like widthxheight?
winkychan: (Jun x Sho - Oooooh)

[personal profile] winkychan 2016-03-01 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I did a tutorial on how to use clubbox, you can find it here. Also you can stream a lot of stuff from Naver, you can find a tutorial here. That's actually where I found the Tensai file.
The file is 864x486, mp4 format.
This is a screencap of the actual size:

Always glad to help when I can (all I do is wait for stuff to download and upload while I watch some Arashi rainbow stuff XD )

[identity profile] kurokouchi.livejournal.com 2016-03-07 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I downloaded everything except Honma Dekka!? (it'll take some time so I saved it for this weekend), so you can delete the TSD and VS Arashi if that's taking up space in your MEGA! Thank you so much as usual... ;_;

Ugh, the TSD quality is actually good already when I played it! It's a lot better than the horrifically MQ thing I ripped off Bilibili, HAHAHA.

[personal profile] winkychan 2016-03-08 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Ok thanks for the heads up ^^ I'm not in a rush, so I'll let them until you publish it so that if you encounter any problem, It'll be just there§

I actually watched this tensai episode live (it's rare because I tend to be at work when it airs and don't necessary catch it up, depends on the guest etc...), and it was sooooooooooooo cute, TomoxShiba inu is so much loooooooove!! And if I remember correctly, he just grabbed some oranges and started eating on the spot or something? Then they made some nabe and gave it to the dog right? Well it was so full of fluffy love I'm so glad you sub it because so few Tensai is getting subbed, it's a really good show!

[identity profile] rurujoy.livejournal.com 2016-03-01 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
i also love this song specially when he did this with kokubun taichi in shounen club premium with just the guitar and piano as accompaniment. and his voice.

love cadence as ell.:)

Edited 2016-03-01 23:12 (UTC)

[identity profile] kurokouchi.livejournal.com 2016-03-07 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
YES???? ALL THE TOMO + TAICHI RE-ARRANGED SONGS ARE SO BEAUTIFUL... it always becomes so soft and kind ;_;

I added you back, though! :D And I think I'll be taking up some Arashi subs as well as TOKIO, just because I'm falling in love with Sho. /o\ What a tough life ;ksdf;shdg

[identity profile] rurujoy.livejournal.com 2016-03-08 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
hahah my other secret love. SHO!!! Yehey!!! there is this vulnerability when it's just the piano and guitar. and his voice is not those conventional type.:)

Oh, and thanks for adding me up too.:) You should watch (If you haven't yet) Kizarazu Cat's Eye. You should watch his drama's (Sho's drama's) i think he's like on par with Nino and Ohno when it comes to acting.

Oh and my fave movie of Tomoya's is Heaven's Door.:)

[identity profile] amehanashi.livejournal.com 2016-03-02 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
Hi! Added you some time ago, I love that you're working on Fragile cos it's rare to see Nagase so serious. Thanks so hard for working on the drama!

[identity profile] kurokouchi.livejournal.com 2016-03-07 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey there! I added you back!

So sorry it took me so long, honestly. ;_; Life's way too busy for me to be able to handle this adding business well, ahaha.

I hope you enjoy Fragile!

[identity profile] aussiestorm.livejournal.com 2016-03-02 07:18 am (UTC)(link)
I am going to take Fragile, however, I am waiting until it's all done, and then I will do a Fragile marathon on a weekend! I can't wait! Thanks for all you've done so far. Wish I could help, but I know shit about how to do that sort of stuff! At this stage, I can only say thank you a heap of times in appreciation!

[identity profile] kurokouchi.livejournal.com 2016-03-07 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, boy. More than it being done, I don't know when I'll finish subbing the whole thing. XD It's smart of you to wait for it to finish, though, 'cause I keep editing the subs out of nowhere 'cause of my own perfectionism. :B

Speaking of appreciation, I think you'll appreciate the fact that I have a new love for Sho. >_> I'm gonna be subbing his Shinobi Ryoko this weekend and the Abunai Yakai for this week too, so...

[identity profile] mocoharuma.livejournal.com 2016-03-02 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much for the song link Lance. Looking forward for more TOKIO subs, woah Tokio Kakeru? OMG! onegaishimasu, but I`m always saying this "I can wait, """ patienlty""", coz RL is our priority.
yeah many fans are willing to help I know... minna ganbatte ne.
Edited 2016-03-02 23:57 (UTC)

[identity profile] kurokouchi.livejournal.com 2016-03-07 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, IRL is the priority, but I miss translating and subbing and hearing people's reactions to the episodes ;__;

I just want there to be more TOKIO fans in the world!! AAAAAAAAAAAAA

[identity profile] mocoharuma.livejournal.com 2016-03-07 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
sasuga! same here Lance despite of being too old for fandom...[demo young at heart dakarasa!] I just can`t leave this inspirational-stress-breaker so easily. hahaha.
ah tomosho`s disneyland adventure was so freaking cute.

[identity profile] no1-antielitist.livejournal.com 2016-03-04 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
I've been watching DASH episodes in the RAW for years, and I would love to have the chance to watch some of the episodes you've subbed. I've also been loving the Fragile subs you've been posting - massive thanks for putting those together for us! Would you consider friending me back?

[identity profile] kurokouchi.livejournal.com 2016-03-07 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely! I've added you back, so I hope you enjoy the stuff! :D

Ugh, I wish I could sub DASH more often, but it's usually such a tedious process 'cause TOKIO always talks too much like fucking morons. orz That and usually you can get the gist of it by watching without subs, ahaha! I'd probably do more DASH if I had more people helping me out, but as it is it's usually just me (and occasionally a volunteer timer). =))) Ah, well.

[identity profile] hytesi.livejournal.com 2016-03-05 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I just watched a couple of the TOKIO Kakeru and i enjoyed them immensely. My sisters and i laughed our heads off the whole segments. Please continue to sub them, because who else would ask questions like how to get rid of ghosts. Thank you so much for making time to sub Tokio and being kind enough to share your hard work.

[identity profile] kurokouchi.livejournal.com 2016-03-07 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Holy shit, you watched TokiKake!

TokiKake used to be SO BORING, SERIOUSLY?? It's only when they started the UmaHaji segment (which are the ones I subbed) that things started to get interesting, 'cause not only do we get hilarious guest stories, but HILARIOUS STORIES ABOUT TOKIO UAHALJf;s;ldg... The Koichi Sato episode was my favourite one, oh my God.

I'm really glad you and your sister enjoyed them though! AREN'T THEY JUST HILARIOUS AND INSANE?

[identity profile] minoxl.livejournal.com 2016-03-10 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
hello! left you a PM and is still interested in your works! thank you for taking the time to sub!! :)

[identity profile] kurokouchi.livejournal.com 2016-03-10 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey! I added you back :D

I hope you enjoy the subs!
